Ophelia Lies, Chai, Nice n Sleazy, Glasgow, 26th October 2019.

Planning over, tickets all ready, Chai T shirt on. First day of my epic trip.  First stop Glasgow.  Obviously, I arrive several hours too early, don’t want to miss the doors opening.

On arrival at Nice n Sleazy, a pub that was my local during 93/94, some of my wilder drinking days, my first impression was what the f have they done, the place looks a shit hole.  Don’t get me wrong, the décor was never great, reprint posters of the Indian girl that was popular for some reason at the time, and lots of gig posters.  Not great. But a step up from the graffiti fest on display now.  That said, music still cool, clientele much the same and the bar staff were in and amongst good spirits. No Pin Ball Machine though, more points deducted.

7:30pm ready for the shutter going up, nothing, some banging about.  Then I heard a band play.  I guess Ophelia Lies as I didn’t recognise it.  Somethings amiss, why are they still soundchecking?
